Movies provide the public with the entertainment value that allows people to gain the visual appeal of a wide range of storytelling. From all the different genres storytelling is involved with such as drama, horror, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and comedy, movies give people something to enjoy every time they watch them. Through watching black and white films, all the way up to the present day, there is still that level of entertainment value that actors and actresses give to the audience. Marisa Ramirez is one of those actresses that has graced the audiences of the soap opera world with her natural talent for acting.

Born in September of 1977, in Los Angeles, California, Marisa was a child that naturally gain the attention of those around her. There was a spark about Marisa that couldn't be denied no matter how hard people tried. As a child, she was filled with laughter, a sweet voice, a bright personality, love for all those around her, and born with natural beauty. By the time she was 13, Marisa Ramirez was offered a chance to to join a modeling agency in her hometown. Her interest at the time was acting and modeling for commercials. Before and during her signing on to a modeling agency, she was attending the Ramona Convent Secondary School, which is a school for all girls. She continued her education all the while her was cultivating her acting career.Marisa Ramirez started acting and modeling at 13

While her career started off with modeling, she quickly began to get show a strong interest in acting, which was something that she's always had a natural knack for. Through her modeling agency, she was able to receive other training and classes for acting, which only helped her to hone her skills for the craft. In 1998, Marisa Ramirez was given two different acting opportunities; one gave her the chance to star in a music video for the world renowned Backstreet Boys, which then went to be added onto the band's DVD. Within that same year, she was offered a guest appearance on the show "USA High", a show that surrounded the lives of six friends from around the globe living together and attending high school abroad. The show was made to mimic the all-time classic series, "Saved By The Bell". On "USA High", Ramirez played the ex-girlfriend of one of the main characters. The following year, 1999, she gained another guest starring appearance on another acclaimed show that many enjoyed watching, "Rosewell". The show surrounded three aliens doing their best to live a life of normalcy, with their two friends. Along the way, each of the characters found themselves in situations dealing with struggle of escaping the government and other alien forces, and of course, dealing with high school situations and relationships. Starring in the episode, "Leaving Normal", Marisa Ramirez played the role of Vanessa.

During her time making guest appearances on acclaimed television shows, she was also making herself well known throughout the world of soap operas. Her roles only being guest appearances on the daytime shows, "Days of our Lives", and "The Bold and the Beautiful", she was became a well known name throughout the daytime television world. In result, she signed a contract in July of 2000 to play the role of Gia Campbell on the show "General Hospital". Her character, Gia Campbell was a supermodel who had her sights on fame, money, beauty, and love. She began her ventures in the modeling world and eventually found love with the high power character, Nikolas, who is of royalty and industrial power. Their relationship grew after discovering that one of their friends was being blackmailed by a dirty cop, which eventually led to a conspiracy of death. Gia quickly became involved with Nikolas, his brother Lucky, and other friends. Together, they were able to save the life of their friend and end the conspiracy. Through Gia's time on the show, she carried on a relationship with Nikolas. Due to their relationship, she was willing to let go of the spotlight and try her hand in living like a normal person working her way through life. She gained a PR position for one of the modeling agencies, and her relationship with Nikolas only grew. After a while, other scandals interfered, involving power, money, and threats. Eventually, it was enough to put distance between Nikolas and Gia. When everything finally came to a calm, Gia found herself on the outside of her friends and Nikolas, resulting in her leaving in 2003 to attend law school.

Now, Ramirez is on the show "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena"When Marisa Ramirez left "General Hospital", in 2002, she began her next acting project on the show "Miracles". The show is based around the spiritual events happening around the world. The main character, Paul, played by Skeet Ulrich, is an investigator that works on cases pertaining to the rise of miracles around the world. Employed by the Catholic church, Paul himself is not a true believer of what is happening around him, and is sent to investigate a particular case where a boy has healing powers. Seeing that the boy is the real deal, Paul finds his faith entirely restored, but not before the boy sacrifices his own life to save that of Paul's, who was in a car accident on his way home. Before the boy dies, Paul and the boy see Paul's blood form a message that only few have seen. Upon his return, he is enlisted to work with a special group of investigators who are working to stop what is best known as a possible apocalypse. Marisa Ramirez plays the character Evelyn Santos, a former detective who was involved with dealing with her own case load of paranormal cases. Together, along with their leader, Keel, their work will all be to stop the coming of the world ending and turning over to the grips of evil. The show only lasted for one season, running a total of 13 episodes. She was chosen to play part because producers and directors wanted for an actress that could be beautiful, but intelligent, strong, hard, and realistic. Ramirez fit this role perfectly.

After her time was concluded on the show, "Miracles", Ramirez returned to her acting and making guest appearances on shows during the years of 2003 to 2006. She made appearances on shows such as "Century City", "Without a Trace", "CSI: Miami", and "The Suite Life on Deck". Between her time working on guest appearances on television shows, she was also working on her modeling career, which was highly successful. She was receiving invitations and requests to model in shows all around the world. She eventually put her modeling career on hold to further pursue her acting career, where she returned to daytime television as the character Carmen Mesta on the show, "The Young and the Restless". Her character didn't have a long run on the show, as she was killed off only five months into the show. Continuing on with other guest appearances on other well known shows, such as "Supernatural", Marisa Ramires landed herself a role on the acclaimed show, "Mental" playing the role of Dr. Chloe Artis. Next, her career would take another successful turn, starting in the upcoming, and much anticipated Showtime series, "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena", where she will play the role of a slave girl named Melitta.

Within her personal life, Marisa Ramirez married her husband, Nathan Lavezoli in September, 22, 2002, just only five days after her birthday nonetheless.
